Welcome to Sports Nut’s Junior Triathlon Club, Beaconsfield!
Is your little sports nutter eager to try their hand at the UK’s fastest growing sport, Triathlon? Sports Nut’s Junior Triathlon Club offers a fun, full-on Triathlon experience with running, swimming, cycling, and more. Our Junior Triathlon Club runs every year during the Summer Term.
The junior triathlon club is only suitable for children in Years 3/4/5/6 who are also competent length swimmers (Level 5 & above). This club is very much an ‘introduction to triathlon’ and so is not suitable for experienced triathletes who have competed in races before.
The junior triathlon club for Summer 2024 has now come to an end and our Summer 2025 club will launch in February 2025!
How Does Sports Nut’s Junior Triathlon Club Work?
Dry-Land Circuit:
- A running session focused on the big muscle groups and core exercises, tailored to be age-specific.
Swimming:
- A pool session working on stamina, time-sets, and technique, utilizing ‘Mr Smooth’s’ swimming video analysis technology.
Cycling:
- A bike session covering all aspects of cycling, including safety, cornering, gears, and dismounts.
Most weeks we will set up a Triathlon course that incorporates swimming, cycling, and running disciplines. And hold onto your hoodie! The transitions from swim-to-bike and bike-to-run, often referred to by the coaches as ‘Organised Chaos,’ add to the fun.
Want to Be the Next Alex Yee or Beth Potter?
Our Tri-Club is open to children from Year 3 to Year 6, offering a brilliant way to have fun, get fit, and try out Triathlon—even those tricky transitions in between. Pro tip: label your children’s clothes as things can get a bit chaotic during changeovers!
Our Summer Junior Triathlon Club usually runs for 10 weeks each year from mid-April to late June, based Davenies School, Beaconsfield. We have plenty of space for cycling, running and transitions, as well as the use of the fantastic 20 metre indoor swimming pool!
By the end of the 10 weeks, athletes should have an excellent understanding of triathlons and if they are eager to continue building on the journey then we can point you in the right direction regarding clubs offering regular training and even some appropriate races!
Arthur (pictured here) started his triathlon journey with Sports Nut a few years ago and has since made huge strides in the world of triathlon, qualifying for the British Championships in both 2023 and 2024! He has his sights on becoming the next Alex Yee…will we see him in Brisbane 2032 maybe?!
Tailored and Fun Sessions
Our Triathlon sessions are tailored to children’s ages and abilities, ensuring they are both achievable and enjoyable. The sessions take place in the secure environment of Davenies School, Beaconsfield, under the guidance of our skilled, safety-conscious Sports Nut Triathlon coaches.
We handle everything from teaching water safety to pumping up flat tires—nothing can throw us off, except maybe the odd trainer during transition!
For those Triathletes looking for a bit more excitement, we set timed challenges, including distance swims, ‘The 2-Minute Turbo Trainer Challenge,’ and ‘The Can You Beat Keely Hodgkinson 1km Run.’
