Advanced Swimmer Pathway
Looking to elevate your swimming, get fitter and engage in some friendly competition?
Sports Nut’s Advanced Swimmer Pathway includes our Junior Squad (Level 7 & Level 8) and our Elite Squad (by invitation only). Each session is led by friendly, highly trained swimming coaches, making it the perfect environment for refining your competitive swimming strokes and skills. The goal of our Advanced Swimmer Pathway sessions is not only to enhance your core swimming abilities but also to build athletic strength and power. Consequently, a significant portion of our sessions is dedicated to improving fitness and flexibility.
Level 7 Junior Squad – 60min Session
In September 2022, we extended our Level 7 sessions to 60 minutes to better prepare swimmers. These sessions now include a 10-minute multi-stroke warm-up and a 10-minute pulse raiser to get the blood pumping. Level 7 swimmers will focus on both technical skills and stamina sets to increase efficiency and strength in the water, with time at the end to perfect starts and finishes, as well as introducing turns.
Level 8 Junior Squad – 60min Session
The highest level in our regular award scheme, Level 8 swimmers will complete a 20-length multi-stroke warm-up with pulse raisers. With all four strokes refined, swimmers will be introduced to the Individual Medley and turns for each stroke transition. These sessions focus heavily on stamina and will include arm, leg, combo, and time sets. Upon completion of this level, swimmers will be invited to join our Elite Squad sessions.
Elite Junior Squad (by invitation only) – 60 min Session
For Advanced swimmers who have completed the Sports Nut Swim School award scheme but still crave a challenge! Traditional swim stroke sets are mixed with open water sessions, fitness training, water safety, and fun games like swimming Trivial Persuit, Giant Jenga and Connect 4. Swimmers will record times each week, with personal best challenges keenly contested. Swimmers must be invited by Sports Nut to join the Elite Squad sessions.

My daughter has recently joined the school swim squad and training with Wycombe District Swim Club… I’d like to take a moment to thank you all for a brilliant swimming lessons.
